in august 2024, a collaboration was formed to write an anthology “Whispers of the tides” sharing their love of poetry and sea and estuary birds. with 33 colour plates detailing the birds hunting HABITATS and characteristics, judi drew on inspiration from her NEIGHBORING town of Aubusson, creuse in france, to creATE IMAGES INCORPORATING THE STYLE AND SHADES OF 17TH CENTURY TAPESTRIES.
kATE IS A MEMBER OF THE rOYAL sOCIETY OF ARTS AND BRINGS HER TALENT AND EXPERIENCE TO CREATE POEMS THAT ARE BOTH INFORMATIVE AND WITY.
tO FORMAT THE BOOK, WE LOOKED AT SIMPLE COLOURS TO REFLECT THE BIRDS PLUMAGE OR HABITAT, TO KEEP EMPHASIS ON THE POEMS AND PLATES AND ADDED A DETAILED REFERENCE GUIDE AT THE BACK OF THE BOOK TO LEARN MORE ABOUT THE POEMS AND FABLES AND FUN FACTS OF THE BIRDS – FROM HIGH FLYERS AND DEEP DIVERS, TO LONG MIGRATORY JOURNEYS AND PHYSICAL TRAITS THAT HELP THEM HUNT.
