Whispers of the tides anthology
Judi and Kate wanted to expand the seabird theme to estuaries too, ENCOMPASSING river and lakes that flow directly into estuaries. this allowed for better compositions showing the birds natural hunting habitats, either out at sea, dabbling around river rocks or in the estuary shallows amongst water weeds.
composition also focused on the movement of the birds, and how they hunted, with waders being shown on mud flaps, the kingfisher as a closeup to see its straight dive into the water and the expansive sea for the albatross. the prey of the birds was also chosen that reflected their main diet, fish, eels or CRUSTACEANS.
there is a great variety of birds here to learn about and the BEGINNING we hope of a series of books on nature.
